The entrance to the Stygian Abyss on Fire Island is the Britannian introduction to the new content. Players are invited to pursue unusual sightings and rumors surrounding the sudden appearance of a new volcano surfacing above long-forgotten subterranean ruins. Guards have taken up station with cannons near the cave entrance nestled at the foot of the new landmass -- certainly cannons should be able to handle anything that should rise from the shadows.

On further investigation, players learn the true source of the volcano, and the forces organizing and drawing greater evil from the depths beneath the ruins. Expect a thoroughly interactive dungeon-tromping experience layered with traps, puzzles, new monsters, and homage to to the original Ultima Underworld ™.

The Britannian level is set to entice and lead players toward the bone-searing adventures that lie within the Stygian Abyss dungeon itself. As players unveil and slash their way through the final boss (see screenshots), they'll discover the true terror awaits below.
